Both of my children received their first library card when they turned 2. They have always had books around them be they picture, graphic novel, cartoon, chapter or a work of literature. Now that they are older, they constantly max out the number of books they can check out (50 at a time) and they read them daily. That is simply unimaginable to me as I was not an avid reader as a kid but then again, my parents did not take me to the library often. They get exposed to so many ideas, thoughts and possibilities from the books they read and they love to ask questions about those concepts which leads to some very interesting conversations at the dinner table!
