Library is Supporting Girl Scouts in Their Awareness of Media and its Influences

By Gina O.

As a middle school level girl scout leader, I can share first hand how valuable the public library is to eight middle school girls. As the library is the hub of all media, we periodically meet on site in the library to help learn about media types and its role in providing messages to young girls. We use the library’s technological resources to research information,to share our findings, and to try to implement changes in the way media portrays girls and women.
