eReference Dos and Don’ts – Keep the conversation going

Last week, Sue Polanka’s post “eReference Platforms – What do We Want?” on the Points of Reference Blog highlighted comments concerning features that users want from platforms like Gale Virtual Reference Library.

“Do include” features such as:

  • Allow library branding with logos and links to the library home page and help pages
  • Did you mean…spelling suggestions
  • Faceted searching

“Don’ts mentioned actions such as:

  • advertising on the search pages
  • displaying content that the library did not purchase
