We Have Issues: Some Shameless Self-Promotion

Gale has had some success with our Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center. It’s a product that was built from the print series that many of us used when we were in school, and it helps students with assignments. However, in today’s world, it’s important to look beyond our own borders. In fact, there’s a whole world out there with different perspectives on issues such as famine, war, and child labor. That’s why we’re working on Global Issues in Context, a new database that will be releasing this Fall and truly takes library products to a whole new level. Content and interface aside, this product truly gives people an experience. Not only can you look up an issue and see what the people in China are saying about it, but you can also visually navigate a map and learn more about any country out there. You can read the Jordanian newspaper and watch video from Iran. You can take action on issues that matter to you the most.

This product is unlike any other product Gale has ever created. It looks like a website but is loaded with content librarians and teachers can trust. It is built around the student workflow.

Take a look at this brief PowerPoint and check out some of the screens below. I think that you will be as excited about this next-generation product as I am.

Let me know what you think!
