The good news is that Type 2 diabetes is somewhat preventable. In one study, The Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), demonstrated that over a three-year period, losing weight and increasing physical activity may reduce reduce the development of Type 2 diabetes by 58% across all age groups and as much as 71% among adults aged 60 years or older.
