More than 200 years ago, the American Antiquarian Society was founded. It has since become recognized as a major resource for U.S. primary sources published before 1876, housing the single largest collection of Americana from the colonial period into the 20th century. Now, Gale and the AAS have entered an exclusive partnership to digitize the AAS’s current and future periodical holdings.

Recently, ccAdvisor published a review of American Historical Periodicals from the American Antiquarian Society:

“Faculty and graduate students will find this database valuable, especially when seeking original materials or historical background on a subject. Numerous disciplines are represented, making it useful for all undergraduate (including community college) students, especially when completing primary source–related research assignments. Libraries that support genealogical research may find the content in this database (especially obituaries, letters to the editor, society bulletins) helpful.”

Big cheers to all who made this resource valuable!
