Elsevier, part of the Reed Elsevier Group, is headquartered in Amsterdam. Founded in 1880, the name originated from a Dutch publisher, House of Elzevir. The use of the tree in their logo dates back to the early 1600s. Their full company history is included on their website. Elsevier is widely held as a top health and science publisher.
