My Library Experience as Compared to Military Service

By Kathy Y.

Truthfully, I never thought I’d find myself working in a library. I wanted action so I went into the military shortly after graduating from college and action I got. When I got out, I worked for the county and then a private college. I didn’t really feel those jobs … if you know what I mean. Lo and behold, I found myself employed as a library assistant for the City of St. Petersburg, Florida in 2003. I feel so fortunate to be working in this atmosphere as I have learned so much from staff, and patrons. The diversity of information in our library cooperative’s collection has helped make every day an adventure and I’m just so thankful to be part of it.
