Gale’s Nineteenth Century Collections Online is the product of partnerships between Gale and almost one hundred libraries in effort to preserve and make content available digitally for academic research. The collection features broad content consisting of monographs, newspapers, pamphlets, manuscripts, ephemera, maps, photographs, statistics, and other kinds of documents in both Western and non-Western languages.
Look below at some of the specific archives within the collection:
The collection unites multiple, distinct archives into a single resource of over one hundred types of primary source documents. The Center for Research Libraries complimented the collection for its scope:
“The scope of this digitization project makes it a significant research resource for both scholars and undergraduates. There are several benefits to this scope: the sheer size of the collections, the geographic range, including comparative materials from various cultures, and the variety of document types, including a significant amount of unpublished material.”
