Booklist is a book-review magazine that has been published by the American Library Association for more than 100 years. It’s widely viewed as offering the most reliable reviews to help libraries decide what to buy and to help library patrons and students decide what to read, view, or listen to.

Recently, Booklist published two reviews for Gale resources:

Gale Presents: Peterson’s Career Prep

Gale Presents: Peterson’s Career Prep provides library patrons a place to turn to for help with creating a resumé, searching for jobs, and more. This online resource is an affordable, focused, and streamlined content set that accommodates job seekers at all levels, whether they’re entering the workforce for the first time or searching for new opportunities.

“The straightforward design of the database ensures that most users will be able to navigate it without a hitch. . . . A comprehensive tool that should prove popular as libraries and patrons all find their new normal.”
— Craig Lefteroff

The Gale Encyclopedia of Science, 6th Edition

Available in print and eBook format on the award-winning platform Gale eBooks, The Gale Encyclopedia of Science, 6th Edition provides researchers quick answers to a wide range of science- and health-related questions, such as viruses, vaccines, and herd immunity. This nine-volume set covers all major umbrellas of science, including engineering, technology, mathematics, and the medical and health sciences, while providing a comprehensive overview of current scientific knowledge and technology.

“Worth noting is updated climate data, developments in genome editing and molecular genetic engineering, and information on pandemics and viruses, including the first six months of the COVID-19 pandemic. . . . A thematic outline allows readers to locate entries related to a topic. Interconnections between entries are aided by ‘See also’ references, and cross-references provide access to other subjects. . . . Recommended for all public libraries and undergraduate institutions.”
