Between 2017 and 2018, there was a dramatic increase among teen use of vaping devices in just a single year, with 37.3 percent of 12th graders reporting “any vaping” in the past 12 months, compared to just 27.8 percent in 2017, according to the findings by Monitoring the Future (MTF).1 Now, in 2019, vaping has seen a surge in media coverage, and Gale has you covered.

Get the facts on e-cigarettes and vaping in the award-winning Gale In Context: Opposing Viewpoints database. The Opposing Viewpoints portal, “E-Cigarettes and Vapor Products,” was updated in September 2019 to give you the most current information on the topic. This portal provides you with Gale-standard authoritative content such as an overview, viewpoints, newspapers and periodical articles along with a Gale-produced video,  E-Cigarettes and Vaping Products. The video visually explains the origins of electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS), the hazardous substances in e-cigarettes, and statistics about the users. It was also designed to tell the story in a different medium, adding to the variety of content provided for users with differing learning styles. Check out the questions at the end of the video; they are designed to start up discussions about vaping in the classroom or they can be used as an assignment for the students.
