The Online Learning Patron Portal is a free add-on for public libraries that provide access to two or more of Gale’s adult learning resources, whether directly purchased from Gale or made available through a statewide e-resources program. Contact your rep when your library is ready to set up this new adult education dashboard.
How Does the Online Portal Work?
- Easy Patron Access: The Online Learning Portal is easy to set up and easy to access. Gale will provide a custom link for you to place on your library’s website.
- Branded & Configured for Your Library: Built-in space for library branding helps create cohesion between your library’s online experience and the Gale portal. The portal automatically configures to only display links to your library’s Gale adult learning products.
- Resources & Descriptions Change Based on Goals: User-intuitive tags allow patrons to explore and compare resources based on their goals. When they choose a goal, only relevant resources and information will display. For example, if a patron clicks “Resumé & Career,” relevant resources are displayed, and the resource descriptions are tailored to that goal. These details help customize the user experience and help patrons choose the resource that is right for them.
- Videos Help Patrons Get Started: Using a new resource can be intimidating. To help new users get started, we’ve linked videos for each resource directly in the portal to guide patrons through signing up, logging in, and finding the information they need.

Gale’s suite of flexible online resources offer a variety of ways to help every adult learner succeed. If you have access to two or more of the following Gale adult learning resources, you can offer your patrons access to the new Online Learning Patron Portal.

- Gale Courses: With Gale Courses, you can make continuing education accessible to everyone in your community. Connect patrons to 325 flexible, instructor-led courses in professional development, technology, and personal enrichment.
