I grew up in a very small town in Pennsylvania and our library was, of course, very small. My mother worked for the local doctor, but she also cleaned houses to make extra money. She also cleaned our town’s library on the weekend when it was closed. I can remember going with her and having the choice of any books I wanted to read. I would curl up in a chair and read the whole time we were there. Later, when I was older and could go on my own, I loved going to the library and checking out books and record albums. Remember those?? When my daughter was young, my husband changed jobs several times here in Indiana, and every time we moved, one of the first places my daughter and I would look for was the local library. I wanted her to have wonderful “library memories” just like I do.Nike News
