All of my life, I have loved books and libraries. In fact, I once applied to work in the library in my hometown and was told that it wouldn’t work as I talk too much. I spent 18 years as a hairstylist, which was okay, but I didn’t love it. When I first moved to the town I now live in, I was bored and lonely, so I started volunteering at the library. 5 years later, I took a part time job they had that kept coming open because of the weekend and evening hours. Less than a year later, the Director quit, and as it’s a small rural library, they could hire someone without a degree. They asked me and I (bravely) accepted. That was almost two years ago. I am now in my third semester of College, and I plan to get my Bachelors in Business Management and my Master’s in Library Science. Thank you libraries, for all that you have done for me and for all that I have to look forward to (books included) because of you.
