Does your institution have access to Gale World Scholar: Latin America and the Caribbean? Upcoming changes to the platform will help organize available content and upgrade the user experience.
Currently, Gale World Scholar: Latin America and the Caribbean is available in two parts—a digital archive that covers the historical primary source documents and a subscription portal that offers journals and periodicals. Your institution may have access to one or both of these products. Please reach out to your Gale customer success manager if you’re unsure about your product holdings.
In early 2023, Gale World Scholar: Latin America and the Caribbean will be revamped and renamed Archives of Latin American and Caribbean History, Sixteenth to Twentieth Century.
The platform will become a stand-alone environment of archival content, created to adapt to current research methodologies and better integrate into student workflows. Users will be able to leverage Gale’s pathbreaking primary sources analysis tools and provide greater accessibility.
Some of the new features include:
- A new OCR (optical character recognition) panel in document view
- An enhanced Image Viewer
- Topic Finder and Term Frequency tools
- A modern interface, in-line with other Gale products
Periodical, journal, and reference content will no longer be available in Archives of Latin American and Caribbean History, Sixteenth to Twentieth Century.
