In 2021, a new auto company was born when Fiat Chrysler merged with Peugeot SA. The following year, the giant corporation became the fourth-largest automaker in the world, after Toyota, Volkswagen, and Hyundai. It’s a constellation of 14 automotive brands with roots that go back to the beginning of the automobile—about 100 years. They named the new company Stellantis, which roughly translates as “to brighten with stars,” referring to its impressive and storied brands. (Fun fact: many were racing brands.)
Stellantis brands in the United States include Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Ram, and Alfa Romeo. International brands such as Peugeot and Citroën, and historic brands like Abarth and Lancia, are also part of Stellantis.
The ChiltonLibrary Stellantis update is primary source material written by auto manufacturers for their dealer technicians. This “factory,” or “OE” (original equipment), service manual data is prized by people who work on their cars because it’s complete and accurate per the vehicle manufacturer.
Body and Collision
Along with the comprehensive repair and maintenance information Chilton covers, the Stellantis updates include extensive body and collision information. By body, automakers mean the vehicle coach—its exterior and interior—such as the hood, trunk, roof, lighting, windows, and doors. Collision is a term automotive people use for the information needed to repair body parts, such as when an accident, hailstorm, or flood damages the vehicle.
The ChiltonLibrary Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, and Ram update is stellar!
