When I was small, my mother could bribe me for weeks with the promise to take me to the “big” county library where they had all the Oz books. Libraries have always felt like home to me. When I was 13, my family had relocated to a new town, during a summer where I felt awkward and alone, I was so happy to discover that I could actually walk to a branch library in my ;new neighborhood. It was a comfortable, wonderful place to spend hours reading. I no longer felt lonely as I read through the entire Anne of Green Gables series and felt the immense pleasure every day as I went to *my* library. Almost 40 years have passed since that summer, but I am still never lonely when I visit my library–full of kind book lovers just like myself.Asics Onitsuka Tiger
