We added new content and resources to some of your favorite In Context products. Take a look at what’s available:

Biography in Context
New homepages added that spotlight the following:

  • Caitlyn (formerly Bruce) Jenner
  • Napoleon Bonaparte, the French leader who suffered his ultimate defeat at the Battle of Waterloo (200 years ago this month)
  • Alex Morgan, an American soccer player heading to the 2015 Women’s World Cup in Canada
  • Haider al-Abadi, the Prime Minister of Iraq
  • Edith Windsor, the woman who challenged the Defense of Marriage Act in 2013

Content Notes added citing the recent passing of Vice President Joe Biden’s son, Beau Biden, who lost his battle with brain cancer on May 30, 2015.

New homepage spotlights added:

  • The recent passing Beau Biden, former Attorney General and son of Vice President Joe Biden, who lost his battle with Brain Cancer at age 46 years old.
  • The Eastern Star ship that overturned during a storm in the Yangtze River in China on June 1st. More than 370 people remain missing from this disaster.
  • California’s drought due to lack of precipitation and the impact on the state’s agricultural industry
  • The voyage from China to Hawaii of Solar Impulse 2, the Swiss-made solar powered plane piloted by Bertrand Piccard.
  • 2015-2016 National Debate Topic: Surveillance. With the majority of the Senate in favor, the USA Freedom Act was passed, which reforms the way US surveillance programs are gathered and conducted by US agencies.

A new video is featured on the homepage of Opposing Viewpoints In Context that focuses on transgender people and how churches are responding to transgender people, especially as they become more visible in popular culture.

The features include:
