In last month’s blog post, we shared details about future updates to Gale Digital Scholar Lab, and that all current customers will move to the new version of the product in December 2021. From now until then, customers will have access to a preview of the new experience from within the current product.
Currently, the preview experience includes enhancements to select portions of the product, including the following:
- Updated layouts for Build, Clean, and Analyze. Researchers will also see an updated search that aligns with the Gale Primary Sources experience.
- A revised Analyze dashboard provides an at-a-glance view of your work.
- A preview of Sentiment Analysis shows changes to the tool, including a pane with context, help links, and controls specific to the visualization. This improvement means less scrolling and navigating away from analyses to find information.
Keep in mind that the preview environment is still under development! Each month, we will release updates to this area of the product and roll out the remaining analyses throughout summer and fall. Our goals in sharing this view are to be transparent about product improvements that we’re making based on your feedback and to invite you to become familiar with these changes before the transition to the updated product later this year.
Please note that the current experience of Gale Digital Scholar Lab is where you should continue your research and teaching and where you should access help documentation and learning content.
We invite you to interact with the preview experience and send us your thoughts and feedback. We look forward to continuing to share news about product enhancements over the coming months and welcome your ideas at [email protected].
