Libraries have been an integral part of my life since high school.I worked in Special Collections in college, and then had a brief stint as a researcher for the NYS education department, researching materials for the English Regents Exam. Visiting a library is always like going on a scavenger hunt; you set out with a mission, and not only do you accomplish your mission, but you pick up a few things along the way. Like how to think on your feet; how to think critically; how to be self-sufficient. These are life skills that we try to instill in students everyday, but the best way to learn is by doing something yourself. The lessons we get from the pain and the satisfaction of solving a problem are better learned than taught.Running Archives
