Biography In Context
July has new homepage spotlights including:
- Harper Lee, whose much-awaited book Go Set a Watchman debuts on July 14
- Dr. Seuss the well-known children’s author has a new book What Pet Should I Get releasing during the month of July
- General Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and America’s highest ranking military leader
- Marta, the Brazilian soccer star who made goal-scoring history in this year’s Women’s World Cup
- Raven-Symoné, known for her roles on “The Cosby Show” and the Disney Channel, and now ABC’s “The View,” where she is the newest co-host
- New featured homepage video: “American History: Declaration of Independence”.

Global Issues In Context
To help locate information more easily around the Obama Administration, this portal has been split into to two different areas – Domestic Policy and Foreign Policy.

Our newest database for middle schoolers has had some recent editions that include new homepage spotlights and portal pages.
Homepage spotlight additions are:

Content updates were made to 18 portal pages including:

In addition over 30 new videos have been added including six from the new Gale Video Series on GMO’s, Bioterrorism, Cyber Warfare, Ebola, Global Warming, and Medical Marijuana.
U.S. History In Context
New portal pages are now live with a spotlight on Ella Fitzgerald and David Sarnoff. In addition 20 new event essays have been added including Bicycling Resurgence, Sony Pictures Entertainment Hack and Washington Redskins Name Controversy, and 11 event essays have been updated including essays on the Secret Service, George Zimmerman and Edward Snowden.
World History In Context
Recent portal pages added to this database are Haiti and Tsunamis. In addition, World History In Context has 20 new event essays with topics such as the Ebola Outbreak, Scotland’s Vote on Independence and Unrest in the Ukraine as well as nine event essays that have been updated like Oscar Pistorius, Malala Yousafzai and ISIS to reflect the changing landscape.
