One out of every five teens1 suffers from mental illness. Cameron Gallagher was one such teen. A bright and talented young girl battling depression and anxiety, Cameron’s dream was to raise awareness about the topic. At the tender age of 16, she suddenly passed away from an undiagnosed heart condition.
Her legacy and efforts live on through the Cameron K. Gallagher (CKG) Foundation and its “SpeakUp” 5k – raising awareness and providing resources for those who suffer. Their mission is to fulfill Cameron’s dream and legacy by being a positive force that works to cultivate awareness and understanding of teenage depression and anxiety.
In support, we curated Cameron’s Collection with nearly 40 eBooks to help nurture and protect students’ mental health and wellness. What’s more, Gale will donate a portion of the proceeds to the CKG Foundation.
“The ripple effect of giving students resources and education on their own mental health is quite impressive and impactful. The benefits to their own performance in turn benefits the schools and communities they live in. Knowing you are not alone is crucial and knowing the adults in their lives be it at school or in their communities recognize the importance of raising awareness and education about mental health is truly changing lives as well as saving lives. Thank you to Gale, a Cengage Company for impacting lives, normalizing the conversation and reaching so many through Cameron’s Collection.”
— Grace Gallagher, mother of Cameron Gallagher
