Gale subscribers that use EBSCO Discovery Service™ (EDS) for discovery will soon benefit from a planned EBSCO maintenance window to improve EBSCO’s content loading process for the following ten databases:
- Gale Academic OneFile
- Gale Academic OneFile Select
- Gale General OneFile
- Gale Health and Wellness
- Gale OneFile Computer Science
- Gale OneFile Heath and Medicine
- Gale OneFile Informe Académico
- Gale OneFile News
- Gale OneFile High School Edition
- Gale OneFile LegalTrac
Gale subscribers to these databases will still enjoy discovery of the database content through EDS during the maintenance window, scheduled to complete by January 31, 2021, but EBSCO will pause loading the regular Gale database updates during that time.
For users beginning their search in EDS during the maintenance window, this means that articles added to the ten databases during the maintenance window will not appear in EDS search results and articles deleted from the ten databases will still appear in EDS search results, and could therefore lead to failed links.
All updates sent from Gale to EBSCO will be resolved by January 31, and subscribers can then expect improved loading of the Gale database updates in EDS going forward.
