You may have noticed changes to your Gale resources in 2026, and we are continuing to make our resources more inclusive and accessible for all users. We are introducing updates that improve navigation, search functionality, and admin preferences.

The following improvements, planned for release in June 2026, are designed to enhance visibility, reduce cognitive load, and ensure content works more consistently with assistive tools such as screen readers and magnifiers. Improvements to the platform include enhancements that address color contrast, focus, relationships, names, labeling, and reflow accessibility criteria.

  • Browse Genres page has been redesigned to improve logic and navigation and clarify filter behavior.
  • Featured Works section of the home page has been redesigned to improve navigation and address issues with reflow; as part of this effort, additional most-studied titles can now be previewed in this section.
  • Redesigned the top-left library menu bar on all Gale products to improve readability and address focus and context for screen reader and keyboard navigation.
