You may have noticed changes to your Gale resources in 2026, and we are continuing to make our resources more inclusive and accessible for all users. We are introducing updates that improve navigation, search functionality, and admin preferences.
The following improvements, planned for release in April 2026, are designed to enhance visibility, reduce cognitive load, and ensure content works more consistently with assistive tools such as screen readers and magnifiers. Improvements to the platform include enhancements that address color contrast, focus, relationships, names, labeling, and reflow accessibility criteria.
Enhancements include:
Gale Primary Sources (GPS)
Cross-Search Home Page
- Banner redesigned to improve color contrast.
- Database browse replaced with selection tool; and left-hand categories (Newspapers, Legal Studies) integrated into database selection tool to improve navigation and consistency across the platform.
Select GPS Home Pages
- Checkbox selection for module gallery replaced with selection tool to improve navigation and clarify link behavior.
