You may have noticed changes to your Gale resources in 2026, and we are continuing to make our resources more inclusive and accessible for all users. We are introducing updates that improve navigation, search functionality, and admin preferences.
The following improvements, releasing in May 2026, are designed to enhance visibility, reduce cognitive load, and ensure that content works more consistently with assistive tools such as screen readers and magnifiers. Improvements to the platform include enhancements that address color contrast, focus, relationships, names, labeling, and reflow accessibility criteria.

Gale Books and Authors
- Adjustments to the design of the home page to improve page logic and navigation.
Gale Literature Resource Center
- New, simplified design for Browse Topics page that addresses issues with navigation, color contrast, reflow, and link behavior.
Gale Primary Sources
- About This Collection page redesign to improve navigation, reflow, and link behavior.
- Cross-searchable archives on Advanced Search page collected in Select Archives tool to improve navigation and reduce scrolling, and adjustments made to the design of content type selection to improve consistency across the platform.
