Continued Accessibility Improvements to Gale in May 2026

You may have noticed changes to your Gale resources in 2026, and we are continuing to make our resources more inclusive and accessible for all users. We are introducing updates that improve navigation, search functionality, and admin preferences.

The following improvements, releasing in May 2026, are designed to enhance visibility, reduce cognitive load, and ensure that content works more consistently with assistive tools such as screen readers and magnifiers. Improvements to the platform include enhancements that address color contrast, focus, relationships, names, labeling, and reflow accessibility criteria.

  • Cross-searchable archives on Advanced Search page collected in Select Archives tool to improve navigation and reduce scrolling, and adjustments made to the design of content type selection to improve consistency across the platform.
